Join a team of five certified nurse midwives in a busy and growing OB practice. This position provides great team collaboration with flexible scheduling. Call rotation required 32 hours/week with full-time benefits.
Provides midwifery care for patients with obstetric and gynecologic needs during labor, delivery, and postpartum. Identifies additional needs for mothers and babies in birthing units. Monitors patients' condition during pregnancies, including co-management of high-risk pregnancies, and performs examinations and procedures. Maintains records of patient conditions and test results within care plans. May order and interpret diagnostic or laboratory tests as well as prescribe medications as permitted by state regulations.
Master's degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD) level education required from an approved accredited nursing educational program of the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM) and American Midwifery Certification Board Medical (AMCB). Currently holds an unencumbered license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) based on state requirements and Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). Must maintain current registered nursing (RN) license and APRN CNM licensure where the practice is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Required to pass certification examination as stipulated by the appropriate state board. Must obtain and maintain approval of applicable scope of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Must provide Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number. Valid driver's license. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
