Pharmacy Technician - Per Diem

BMC CHC Outpatient Pharmacy TechnicianAs a BMC CHC Outpatient Pharmacy Technician, you will be preparing and distributing medications, operating and monitoring pharmacy automated technology systems, maintaining inventory, performing daily quality assurance audits, providing customer service, and maintaining pharmacy records. That's why you'll find a supportive work environment at BMC, with rich opportunities throughout your career for training, development, and growth.There's never been a better or more exciting time to join our BMC community and help us continue to carry out our mission of delivering exceptional and equitable care to all.Job ResponsibilitiesTasks:Preparing product for use, including packaging, repacking, compounding, bar-coding, or any other manipulation.Performing medication preparation in accordance with law, regulation, accreditation standards, and hospital policy or procedure, including participating in a double check system for all preparation.Provides assistance with inventory control (receiving, stocking, replenishment) including: Receiving product (e.g. from wholesalers, direct shipments etc.) and stocking the product in accordance with laws and regulations for storage of product and in accordance with hospital policy.Patient Care and Safety:Communicates to pharmacists and/or pharmacy technician supervisor on malfunctioning equipment and unsafe working conditionsProviding the highest level of customer service, including answering the telephone, greeting customers and guests in person and in any other interaction.Administrative:Attends and participates in hospital and other management training and development workshops.Must have/maintain national technician certification through PTCB or exCPTJob RequirementsRequires a high school diploma or GEDMust be registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern with the MA Board of Pharmacy by the hire date ( Pharmacy Interns are not required to hold CPhT certification)Must also have national certification from Pharmacy Tech Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam of Certified Pharmacy Techs (exCPT), or within 6 months from start dateRequires 2-3 years' experience with at least one year pharmacy related experience. 3+ years' of experience preferred.
