Registered Nurse - Inpatient Acute Dialysis

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for an Inpatient Acute Dialysis unit located in Janesville, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients requiring acute dialysis treatments within a hospital setting.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team, responsible for utilizing the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care, administer medications and treatments, and develop individualized care plans. This position requires a commitment to patient safety, quality outcomes, and collaborative practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, established policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Document patient care activities accurately and thoroughly, adhering to all relevant standards.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care based on physician orders, hospital policy, and patient needs, including patient and family education.
• Participate actively in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance initiatives.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units or departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
• Apply critical thinking skills to ensure patient safety and enhance the patient experience, escalating concerns appropriately through the chain of command.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)).
• Prior experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute dialysis setting.

Licensing Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Wisconsin.
• AHA Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• AHA Provider level Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
