Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: 2+ Years Required License: Active RN License Certifications: Active American Heart Association BLS Active American Heart Association ACLS Active NIHSS Certification Must-Have: Competent with cardiac medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardene, Dobutamine, Lasix, Bumex. Knowledge of titration and application of cardiac medications. Competent in telemetry and knowledge of heart rhythms. Ability to recognize changes in patient status and intervene appropriately. Knowledge of signs and symptoms of stroke and the ability to recognize changes in patient status. Strong communication skills. Description: The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients during their shift. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria. Judgments are made based on scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries.
