General Statement or Primary Purpose


Performs duties as associated with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all Cultural Arts and Recreation facilities. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Cultural Arts & Recreation Associate Director of Facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities or Knowledge, Skills, Abilities


Utilize approved cleaning supplies to effectively clean all areas of the CA&R facilities.
Coordinate use of facility needs with the management team to ensure that all spaces are properly prepared for use.
Remove and properly dispose of all trash within each facility.
Execute all custodial and maintenance tasks in a timely manner to provide a safe and accessible space for all occupants.
Manage the fleet procedures for the department to ensure that all vehicles are clean and well maintained.
Conduct regular inventory of custodial supplies to ensure availability and readiness.
Assist with maintaining order within the facilities by encouraging the adherence of all policies and rules.
Properly secure all facilities by ensuring the doors are locked and alarms are set at the end of each day.
Perform minor repairs to equipment as needed.
Communicate maintenance and repair issues to the immediate supervisor in a timely and accurate manner.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all storage rooms as assigned.
Maintain all outdoor facilities.
Utilize approved equipment to maintain the lawn, remove debris and clean the floors as needed.
Acquire knowledge of all programs associated with the department.
Attend all scheduled staff meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience


Graduation from high school and 1 year of experience providing custodial and/or maintenance services; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Valid North Carolina Driver's License required.
