Houston, TX, USA Job Description Posted Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 6:00 AM Onsite, Office Location: Houston, Texas Reports to: Vice President & Reinsurance Controller Relocation Assistance offered accordingly We’re looking for a skilled Senior Accountant, Reinsurance to support complex accounting, reporting, and control activities tied to our reinsurance programs. In this role, you’ll partner across Finance, Reinsurance, Actuarial, Risk, and Audit to help ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and high‑quality analysis that supports effective risk transfer and business decision‑making. What You'll Do Prepare and analyze reinsurance accounting entries and financial results for monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with US GAAP and statutory accounting requirements Review complex reinsurance transactions and help determine appropriate accounting treatment Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, analyses, and supporting documentation Support audits, regulatory filings, and internal control activities related to reinsurance accounting Partner with cross‑functional teams to provide accounting guidance, improve processes, and strengthen reporting quality What You'll Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within insurance, reinsurance, or life and annuity environments Strong understanding of complex accounting transactions, reconciliations, and financial analysis Working knowledge of US GAAP and statutory accounting principles Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with auditors and cross‑functional business partners CPA or similar professional designation preferred Additional Information Job titles may span multiple career levels.
