Job Title Inspector/Packer Job Description Shift: Morning Pay Rate: $23.95 Schedule: 5 AM to 3 PM; Monday - Friday Position Overview The Inspector/Packer is responsible for inspecting and packing bags to safely deliver the highest quality products at the best efficiency and lowest scrap possible using effective manufacturing methods. Inspector/Packer personnel report to the Shift Leader. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Follow all Key Operating Procedures, including but not limited to: Company and facility Policies Safety LTCT; use of proper PPE; adherence to all applicable safety rules Quality PQCT, Bag Specifications, Testing Frequencies and Procedures SOPs Methods for performing work SSOP/Good Housekeeping standards (keep machines and area sanitized and clean) Good Manufacturing Practices Food/Safety Security HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) Food Regulatory and Customer Specifications Responsible for scrap, efficiency, and product quality Responsible for ensuring that box and tote counts are accurate as per the bag specification Learn to pack all bag specifications and at all machines Assist and work closely with Quality, Maintenance, and technical resources to ensure that issues are being addressed to optimize the performance of the line. Provide feedback and suggestions for improvements Communicate positively and respectfully to resolve all issues Complete all documentation accurately Other responsibilities and projects as assigned Competency Statements Act: Safely, Responsibly and Ethically. Work Environment Manufacturing Plant. Climate-controlled. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Experience in manufacturing preferred. Ability to read measuring tapes and product specifications with mechanical aptitude. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Experience using pallet jacks and machine hoists is a plus. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office applications). Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
