About the Position
Our client is seeking experienced CDL-A drivers for local operations based in Baltimore, Maryland. This temp-to-hire position offers steady work, reliable scheduling, daily home time, and strong long-term potential.
Pay & Schedule
- Pay: $27.00 per hour, straight time
- Employment Type: Temp-to-hire
- Schedule: Full-time, 5-day workweek
- Workweek Options: Monday–Friday, Tuesday–Saturday, or Sunday–Thursday
- Shift: First shift, with dispatch times between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Home Time: Home daily
Job Details
- Route Type: Local
- Route Area: Typically within 200–250 miles of the Baltimore yard, with most routes traveling shorter distances
- Average Stops: 3–6 stops per day
- Freight: General freight; hazmat loads may be assigned
- Equipment: Tractor-trailer with automatic transmission
- Handling: No-touch freight
- Work Setting: On-site
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a CDL-A tractor-trailer on local delivery routes
- Transport general freight in accordance with DOT regulations and safety standards
- Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Maintain accurate logs and required paperwork
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations personnel
Minimum Requirements
- Valid CDL-A
- 2+ years of recent, relevant, and verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
- Experience operating CDL-A tractor-trailer equipment
- Hazmat endorsement preferred at hire and required within the first 90 days of employment
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record, with no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years
- Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements
