Technical Assistant, Adult Education (Part-Time)

The Technical Assistant provides technical, administrative, data management, and operational support for the Adult Education Department. The position supports the effective administration of student enrollment, assessment, attendance, program records, reporting, and instructional operations. The Technical Assistant works with College and program information systems, assists with maintaining accurate student and program data, and provides technical and administrative support to program staff, instructors, and students.

This is a part-time hourly position.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

• Assist with daily student intake, registration, enrollment, and maintenance of student records.
• Assist students, instructors, staff, visitors, and members of the public by telephone, electronic communication, and in person; provide accurate information regarding Adult Education and College programs, activities, procedures, and policies.
• Assist with BEST Plus testing, including scheduling, testing logistics, documentation, data entry, and maintenance of assessment records.
• Assist with the LACES/LiteracyPro data system, including student enrollment and demographic information, assessment data, attendance, educational functioning levels, measurable skill gains, outcomes, and other required program information.
• Perform data entry and utilize College information systems and software applications to maintain student, course, attendance, assessment, and program records.
• Assist with course and class management, including creation and maintenance of class rosters, attendance records, schedules, student status information, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain organized electronic and hard-copy filing systems, logs, databases, and program records and ensure that documentation is complete and readily available for program monitoring and reporting.
• Compile, organize, and review data and information for reports, analyses, audits, monitoring activities, grant deliverables, and program evaluations.
• Assist with monitoring student attendance, participation, assessment activity, and other program performance indicators and communicate identified issues to appropriate program staff.
• Support program leadership with special projects, data requests, program reviews, reporting deadlines, and operational initiatives.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of student, personnel, program, and other protected information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND BACKGROUND:

1. Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. Experience in higher education, adult education, workforce development, educational programs, or a related administrative environment preferred.
3. Demonstrated experience working with databases, student information systems, data-management systems, or similar technology platforms.
4. Experience with an integrated student information system, preferably Ellucian Colleague, preferred.
5. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and related platforms.
6. Strong organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
7. Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced educational environment.
8. Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and appropriately handle student and program records.
9. BEST Plus certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification as required by the program.
10. Ability to work some evening and weekend hours as required by program operations.

The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.

Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The hourly pay range for this position is $16-$20.
