Wind Technician - Tower Wiring

Sentry Electrical Group, Inc

Wind Technician – Tower Wiring Sentry Electrical Group, Inc. Traveling Role | Nationwide Renewable Energy Projects Per Diem Available | Full Benefits | 401(k) | No Experience Required

WHO WE ARE

Sentry Electrical Group is a specialty contractor working exclusively in the renewable energy industry, with projects spanning wind and solar installations across the country. In the wind sector, we travel to project sites to perform tower wiring installation on new turbines and repower projects. Our crews are on-site during the build phase — fitting out towers, running and connecting wiring systems, and getting turbines ready to operate. It is hands‑on, physical work with long days and a strong team culture.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Working as part of a crew primarily inside wind turbine towers, your day‑to‑day will include: Climbing inside wind turbine towers (heights up to 300+ ft) to carry out wiring installation tasks Running, routing, and securing cables and wiring inside the tower per installation plans Connecting and terminating wires at designated points using hand and power tools Installing conduit, grounding systems, and related hardware at the tower foundation Supporting repower projects — installing new wiring systems in existing turbines Following detailed written and verbal instructions and adhering to safety procedures at all times Collaborating closely with your crew and lead technician to hit daily installation milestones Traveling to project sites across the U.S.; overtime and variable schedules are a normal part of this role

WHO THRIVES IN THIS ROLE

We are looking for people who are reliable, physically capable, and ready to work hard. A background in the trades is helpful but not required — we provide full on‑the‑job training. What matters most is the right attitude and work ethic. Our best hires have often come from backgrounds like: Cell tower, telecom, or communications work — if you've climbed towers and worked with cabling, you'll feel right at home Any trade field involving hand tools, physical labor, and structured site work Farming, ranching, or agricultural work — people used to long days and demanding conditions tend to excel here Military or other structured, team‑oriented environments No prior wind or renewable energy experience is necessary. If you have the drive, we will teach you the rest.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

There are no experience prerequisites for this role, but you will need to: Be comfortable climbing stairs and ladders inside towers to heights of 200–400 ft Be comfortable working in confined spaces and at height for extended periods Lift, carry, and maneuver items up to 50 lbs Stand, kneel, bend, and work in physically demanding conditions throughout the day Work on active job sites in variable conditions, including some outdoor work Follow directions precisely and execute tasks with strong attention to detail Use close‑range radios and communicate clearly with your crew Operate basic hand tools and power tools (training provided) Hold a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a passport (travel required) Have a high school diploma or equivalent Read, write, and communicate in English

WHAT WE OFFER

Competitive salary based on experience and performance Per diem for qualifying travel assignments Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off 401(k) retirement plan Full on‑the‑job training — no prior tower or wind experience needed Electrical Apprenticeship Program — for those looking to advance their career, we offer a fully sponsored apprenticeship pathway with 100% of tuition and books covered by Sentry, upon meeting program eligibility thresholds Consistent work on active project sites across the country Equal Opportunity Employer It is the policy of Sentry Electrical Group, Inc. to afford equal employment opportunity without regard to age, race, religion, color, gender, national origin, veteran status, disability, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law. Applicants requiring reasonable accommodation to the application and/or interview process should notify a representative within the Human Resources department. #J-18808-Ljbffr Sentry Electrical Group, Inc
