About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead its ML platform and infrastructure group. This role is pivotal in the development of the company's pioneering AI technology, which has the potential to transform various industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning the roadmap and vision for the ML platform, including data, evaluation, and compute topics. This involves building and scaling the engineering team, ensuring close collaboration with the research and applied ML teams, and making strategic prioritization decisions. The VP of Engineering will also be a key partner to the founders and stakeholders, driving the technical aspects of the product vision and being hands-on with the code when necessary. Candidates for this role should have a minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, with a focus on data, evaluation, and compute infrastructure. Experience in an ML systems organization and a proven track record of leading engineering groups of 20 or more across multiple teams and locations are essential. The ideal candidate will be based in Palo Alto or London, and be energized by the fast-paced startup environment and the mission of the company. Deep expertise in ML development and a strong understanding of the technical challenges involved are required, as is the ability to stay close to the technical details and drive the product vision.
