Claims Representative (IAP) - Workers Compensation Training Program | Riverside, CA

Primary Purpose of the Role To be oriented and trained as a new industry professional through a comprehensive 4‑week learning program and subsequent onboarding, preparing you for a career in workers’ compensation claims adjusting. Key Responsibilities Attend and complete the designated claims professional training program. Adjust workers’ compensation claims under close supervision, including: Processing and responding to incoming mail, email, and other claim documents. Communicating with injured workers, insureds/employers, medical providers, attorneys, and carrier representatives via phone, video conference or email. Investigating new and existing claims; gathering medical records, employer reports, and witness statements. Assessing employer/employee relationships, policy verification, coverage, and potential subrogation or fraud indicators. Determining coverage, compensability and appropriate benefits in line with jurisdictional guidelines and carrier program requirements. Documenting claims files and properly coding claim activity. Preparing detailed reports with findings and recommendations. Administering claim benefits, including indemnity and medical benefits, while maintaining state compliance. Participating in virtual and/or in‑person meetings, claim reviews and business functions for training, discussion and meetings. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred; 2 years of customer service experience preferred. No prior experience required. Work Environment Requirements Mental: Clear conceptual thinking, excellent judgment, problem solving, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Physical: Computer keyboarding.
