Position Details Title: Team Lead Location: Springfield, MA Type: Full‑time, W‑2 Compensation: $17.00–$21.00 per hour Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Employee discount Job Summary The Team Lead supports the Director of Operations in overseeing all retail operations, including opening/closing, floor management, training, compliance, and customer service. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills to ensure smooth daily operations and high standards of customer experience. Responsibilities Oversee store operations in the Director of Operations' absence, including opening/closing duties and daily floor activities. Supervise and evaluate Budtender performance, ensuring adherence to company policies and handling performance documentation. Collaborate with management to maintain effective communication with staff and leadership. Address customer complaints while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal inspection, billing, and licensing requirements. Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction. Apply strong math skills to cash handling and financial transactions. Manage daily financial reporting and oversee cash handling procedures. Maintain a structured and compliant retail environment with attention to detail and operational consistency. Identify operational challenges and propose proactive solutions. Required Skills Proven experience as a Team Lead or in a similar supervisory role. Knowledge of store management and inventory control processes. Excellent communication and phone etiquette. Strong leadership ability to motivate teams. Exceptional customer service capabilities. Effective problem‑solving aptitude for on‑floor issues. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Conflict mediation and customer complaint resolution skills. In‑depth product knowledge to support staff and customers. Adaptability to fast‑paced environments and unexpected situations. Delegation skills based on team members’ strengths. Attention to detail in merchandising, cleanliness, and compliance. Sound judgment and composure under pressure. Proactive identification and presentation of operational solutions. Independence in dynamic settings with diverse personnel. Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older. Must pass all state‑required background checks. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 1–3 years of prior retail supervisor experience preferred. Cannabis industry experience preferred. Strong understanding of state and local regulatory guidance, policies, and compliance expectations. Proficiency with new software and evolving technologies. Knowledge of standard office applications, including Microsoft Office. Education & Prior Experience High School Diploma or GED required.
