Rexel Automation is growing in Florida, and we’re looking for an Industrial Controls Specialist to help us build the next phase of our business across Orlando and Florida’s East Coast. If you understand industrial controls and enjoy being in front of customers, this could be a great opportunity. Summary:
The Senior Automation Product Specialist is responsible for assisting Outside sales to drive sales of automation products and solutions to customers. Responsible for understanding the features and benefits of the products and solutions, providing product knowledge and addressing customer inquiries. The Senior Automation Product Specialist's goal is to build strong relationships with customers, identify their needs, and recommend the most suitable products and solutions to meet those needs.

What You'll Do:

• Own and grow the industrial controls business across Orlando and Florida’s East Coast.
• Partner with Rexel sales, Rockwell Automation and technology partners to identify opportunities, expand accounts and win business.
• Help customers select, specify, demonstrate and apply industrial control and automation solutions.
• Support solutions across motor control, drives, sensing, safety, networking, connectivity and control-panel applications.
• Work with OEMs, machine builders, system integrators, panel builders and end users on new applications and modernization projects.
• Conduct customer visits, demonstrations, training and technical presentations to develop opportunities and introduce new technologies.
• Build and manage an actionable opportunity pipeline, including competitive conversions and account whitespace, and drive opportunities through closure.
• Meet or exceed sales goals of assigned technology offer
• Lead and support sales efforts with key targets, key customers, and key opportunities in assigned product and/or area/region
• Provide technical support for internal and external customers via on-site visit, phone, and email. This could include, but is not limited to troubleshooting products, finding technical documentation and specifications, product selection and, other requested activities
• Establish relationships with sales and customers to better understand sales potential
• Work with sales to establish joint strategies and activities
• Provide expert knowledge to Sales and Branch teams to facilitate quoting, order entry, and order expediting
• Create and present technical and commercial training for internal and external customers
• Describe or demonstrate product to customers
• Acquire, use, and continuously develop personal technical knowledge
• Provide oral and/or written quotations, proposals or estimates of prices, scope of work, terms, and delivery
• Work with prospective customers to move projects through the sales cycle to conclusion
• Properly prepare for sales calls, customers events, etc.
• Work with Purchasing on proper inventory of high-tech products and identify any potential obsolesce problems
• Mentor and coach junior level team members
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What You'll Need

• 10+ years of experience
• Electrical distribution industry or related experience required
• Valid Driver’s License
• High School or GED - Required
• 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree - Preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Experience in industrial controls, automation, electrical systems, machine controls, system integration or panel building.
• Strong knowledge of motor control, VFDs, sensors, safety, networking and PLC-based control systems.
• Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley experience preferred, with other major industrial automation platforms also valued.
• Comfortable working on the plant floor with engineers, maintenance teams, OEMs and machine builders to understand applications and recommend solutions.
• Ability to turn technical challenges into practical solutions and business opportunities.
• Confident delivering product demonstrations, presentations and customer training.
• Self-motivated, commercially driven and collaborative, with the ability to develop new business and work effectively across sales and technical teams.
• Intermediate/advanced computer skills, specifically with Excel/Outlook/Word.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, blueprints, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from small groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to practice good interpersonal relations, using tact, courtesy, a positive attitude toward customers and co-workers, pleasant communication etiquette, and a general attitude as a representative of goodwill on behalf of the company at work or during company travel.
• Ability to develop and present specialized instruction concerning the specific high-tech equipment in the assigned area of responsibility.
