Certified Nursing Assistant/Health Unit Coordinator - Medical/Surgical

Certified Nursing AssistantStoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Medical Surgical team on a Full Time basis. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for administering direct patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or other qualified staff. This position may also perform general clerical duties to ensure the smooth operation of the unit.The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) is responsible for the clerical coordination of the unit. Examples of duties include preparing and maintaining files of medical records, answering phones and triaging phone calls to professional staff, managing supplies, and assisting staff in getting their needs met to do their jobs.Essential Functions:Assumes direct patient care responsibilities as assigned by the Registered Nurse and/or other qualified staff.Assists patients in ADLs in an effective and timely mannerEnsures patients' safetyPerforms clerical duties to assist in the smooth operation of the unitParticipates in continued personal growth and developmentPerforms other related duties as assigned or requestedPosition Requirements:Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant training programHigh School Graduate or EquivalentPrefer previous experience in a hospital and/or healthcare settingBLS certification within 90 days of hireNon-violent crisis intervention or workplace violence training every two years on a rolling calendarComputer Competency: Basic Computer Skills are expected for this positionMicrosoft Office Suite Skills: Beginning Skills – Able to perform basic things such as opening a document, change font, save a document, write a letter.Work Shift:Full Time,.9 FTE36 hours per week, 12-hour shiftsScheduled Days: Variable Week DaysEvery Other WeekendScheduled Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.Every 3rd Holiday - 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.Benefits:403(b) retirement plan (employer match at hire)Medical Insurance (Multiple Health Plan Options)Dental, and Vision insuranceDisability and life insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth Savings Account (HSA)Paid Time Off (PTO at hire)Employee assistance programsTuition AssistanceFree On Campus ParkingWork Environment:This position is an in-person role at our Stoughton Hospital location.
