Through biblical worship, intentional discipleship, authentic community, and missional living, the church equips believers to grow in Christ and engage in His mission, strengthen families, reach the next generation, and advance the Great Commission both locally and globally. Malvern Hill desires to be a church that not only gathers faithfully but also sends believers into the world to make a lasting impact for the Kingdom of God.

The next Worship Pastor will play a vital role in advancing this vision by leading the congregation to exalt Christ through worship, developing and shepherding worship ministry teams, and helping create an environment where lives are transformed by the Gospel.

Malvern Hill is a growing congregation with a rich history dating back to 1931. Over the decades, the church has grown into a thriving church family that welcomes approximately 500 worshipers each Sunday. The church has averaged about 7% growth per year for the past several years. Malvern Hill emphasizes biblical preaching, dynamic worship, LifeGroups, discipleship, special needs ministry, and multigenerational ministry. Approximately 1/3 of the congregation is under the age of 18.

The mission of Malvern Hill is summarized in three simple but important phrases: "Love God, Love One Another, and Change the World by Giving and Going." The church seeks to combine sound biblical doctrine with an outward-focused, missional approach to ministry, encouraging members to engage their community and participate in missions locally, nationally, and internationally. Through partnerships, mission trips, community outreach ministries, and a strong emphasis on the Great Commission, Malvern Hill strives to equip believers to live out their faith and make a gospel impact both in Camden and beyond.

The Worship Pastor serves as the Pastor responsible for music and worship service planning and preparation, as well as direction and oversight of A/V technologies. The primary purpose of this pastoral role is to lead the church body at Malvern Hill to worship Jesus Christ. The Worship Pastor will work in partnership with other leadership to help the church fulfill its purposes to love God, love others, and change the world!

Worship and Music Responsibilities

• for worship service planning and preparation, in conjunction with the Senior Pastor.
• to raise up and train volunteers to lead and facilitate healthy, dynamic worship services.
• to develop and facilitate a multi-generational worship ministry that is intentionally seeking to raise up the next generation of worshipers.
• for the organization and oversight of a worship choir that provides occasional presentations and seasonal performances.
• for the management of online platforms to promote and expand the ministry of Malvern Hill through worship.
• for the necessary maintenance of instruments and equipment.
• for developing and managing related ministry budgets.

Camden, South Carolina is considered one of the most charming small towns in the state, especially if you appreciate history, excellent outdoor recreational opportunities, and a strong sense of community. Known as South Carolina's oldest inland city, Camden is a beautiful and welcoming community with a population of roughly 8,000 people. It is part of Kershaw County, which has a population of over 70,000 and is conveniently located about 35 minutes northeast of Columbia.

Camden has a beautiful historic downtown, tree-lined streets, and a strong equestrian culture. Nearby Lake Wateree offers boating, fishing, and water recreation. The area offers a good blend of rural and suburban living, with an overall cost of living that is below the national average. Camden and Kershaw County provide a welcoming community where meaningful relationships can flourish and lasting impact can be made for generations to come!
