About this role

Under direct supervision and direction of the Facility Administrator (AA) or higher licensed medical professional, the Medical Assistant provides direct and non-direct patient care, participating in the patient plan of care by administering a variety of duties in the areas of treatment to patients, laboratory, check in/out and within scope, following written/oral instructions, and communicating and maintaining accurate patient events records

What you will do

Clinical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prep exam rooms

Vital Signs

Assist practitioner with examination

Administering treatments

Obtain lab specimens (blood, stool, oral, culture) and perform on-site testing

Provide test results to patient per providers orders

Ordering and stocking medications and supplies

Clean and organize exam room and clinic

Experience:

• Previous correctional/detention facility experience preferred
• Two (2) years’ experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
• EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
• Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)

Licenses/Certifications:

• Unrestricted Certification as a Medical Assistant, if required in assigned state
• Current (and must maintain) Phlebotomist certification
• Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS and ACLS certification
• Current (and must maintain) security clearance

Job Type: Full-time

Shift: Swing shift 12:00pm - 8:00pm, including weekends.
