Job Description
Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

License: Montana Licensure (Radiologic Technologist)
Certifications: American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT), BLS within three months of hire

Must-Have:
Graduate of an accredited Radiology program or equivalent
One year of previous radiology experience, which may include clinical internship experience
Competency in advanced imaging techniques including fluoroscopic/C-Arm in the operating room, trauma, and portable radiography within six months

Description:
The Acute Care Radiologic Technologist provides healthcare services and X-rays to assist in diagnosis or treatment.
Performs X-ray procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.
Responsible for performing radiographic exams as requested by all healthcare providers.
Assists with fluoroscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures alongside the radiology provider.
Conducts ultrasound-guided paracentesis, thoracentesis, and arthrocentesis.
Educates patients on preparation and post-care for radiology procedures.
Assists with fluoroscopically guided PICC placements.
Completes required documentation for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.
Performs ancillary duties required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams.
Retrieves written orders and related health information.
Participates in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of hospital quality indicators.
Educates new hires and radiography students on relevant diagnostic and operative guidance exams.
Demonstrates sound judgment and maintains a professional demeanor at all times.
Exhibits tact, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality in all interactions.
Performs essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environment.
Analyzes, organizes, and prioritizes work while meeting multiple deadlines.
Works varied shifts as scheduled and needed.
May involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens and radiation from medical imaging procedures.
May involve handling chemicals, disinfectants, and substances within healthcare settings.
Involves potential exposure to infectious diseases and emotionally challenging situations.
The role may require working extended hours and weekends as necessary.
Maintains effective communication both in person and through various technologies.
Possesses the ability to de-escalate situations involving upset individuals.
Capable of performing repetitive tasks as needed.
The facility reserves the right to cancel shifts in the event of low census or unforeseen circumstances.
