Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney to join its growing Madison practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 1-3 years of legal experience who is interested in building a long-term career in family law within a collaborative and supportive environment.

The ideal candidate will be empathetic, patient, creative, and client-focused , with strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive and challenging family law matters professionally.
Practice Areas

The attorney will work on a variety of family law matters, including:

• Divorce
• Legal Separation
• Child Custody & Placement
• Adoption
• Prenuptial Agreements
• Postnuptial Agreements
• Other Family Law Matters

Key Responsibilities

• Represent clients in a variety of family law matters.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Participate in negotiations, hearings, mediations, and court proceedings.
• Develop case strategies and provide practical legal advice to clients.
• Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel.
• Handle sensitive client matters with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment.
• Work collaboratively with experienced attorneys and support staff.
• Develop legal skills and take increasing ownership of assigned matters.

Required Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active Wisconsin Bar License and good standing required.
• 1-3 years of legal experience , preferably in family law.
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Client-focused approach and ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism.
