About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Med/Tele - Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 7p-7a Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: - Great communication and time management skills - Ability to read telemetry strips Description: This unit has transitioned to a virtual integrated care nursing model. Nurses must adhere to the schedule provided. Block scheduling cannot be offered. The unit has 24 beds, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 6:1. Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia, and chronic kidney disease. Telemonitor technicians are responsible for monitoring patients, but registered nurses must be able to read telemetry strips. Charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators are available on the unit. Patient care technicians are present on the unit, with a ratio of 12:1. Respiratory equipment used includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow systems. Shifts are scheduled by the manager, and every other weekend is required. Holiday shifts are mandatory. Registered nurses may float to all medical/surgical units as necessary. The dress code for the unit is navy blue scrubs. Department orientation is completed within the unit. There is a cancellation policy in place for shifts. The charting system used is EPIC. A BSN degree is not required for submission.
