REVENUE FIELD AGENT, LEAD (CLASS CODE 0441)

Professional administrative, field, and supervisory work performing sales tax collection and account maintenance. This role involves complex investigations, training, reporting, and liaison activities. Responsibilities Investigate tax protestors and non‑complying tax entities. Research and determine tax liabilities. Train and lead subordinate agents on field protocols and procedures. Prepare reports, identify delinquent accounts, and conduct account analysis for enforcement recommendations. Serve as liaison with law enforcement agencies for referrals on delinquent sales tax and licenses. Provide case history for lower‑level agents appearing in Municipal Court on case violations. Apply City and State sales tax regulations correctly in enforcement matters. Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. A valid driver's license with a good driving record.

EITHER:

Permanent or probationary status with the City of New Orleans as a Senior Revenue Field Agent and one (1) year of experience in that classification; and successful completion of the following courses: Professional/Administrative Speaking & Presentation (PAT 1120), Professional/Administrative Writing (PAT 1130), Professional/Administrative Math & Statistics (PAT 1420), Professional/Administrative Supervision (PAT 1610), Managing Conflicts & Human Relations (PAT 1690), Creative Problem Solving & Decision Making (PAT 1870), Productive Meetings (PAT 1871). Three (3) years of full‑time professional work in tax collection or a closely related field. Work experience must have been gained in a position requiring a Bachelor’s degree at upon entrance. A written examination, weighted 100%, is required.
