Food Service Aide

Position Summary The Food Service Aide supports the dietary team in all aspects of meal preparation, service, and sanitation to ensure high-quality food service for residents at all times. This role plays a key part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment. Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- ServSafe certification preferred
- Basic math skills required
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
- Assist with food preparation, cooking, and baking in accordance with recipes, special diets, and direction from the Cook/Baker
- Set up dining areas, take orders, serve food and beverages, and provide excellent customer service
- Bus tables, wash dishes, and clean/sanitize dining and kitchen areas
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, and pans
- Sweep and mop floors to ensure a safe and sanitary workspace
- Review menus and work orders to determine food quantities and preparation needs
- Prepare items in advance, including freezer pulls and next-day meal prep
- Transport hot and cold food safely to and from the kitchen
- Follow all food safety regulations, including proper temperature logging and documentation
- Assist in training new food service staff as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and compliance requirements
- Ability to communicate clearly with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to read and understand safety rules, menus, and instructions
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and use kitchen equipment safely
- Work environment includes kitchens and dining areas with varying temperatures
- Must use caution in potentially wet or slippery conditions
- Indoor and outdoor temperature variations depending on work area
- Exposure to kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals
- Fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on resident care and service
