Legal Counsel Position at Publicis Re:Sources

Are you an innovative and talented lawyer looking to join a collaborative in-house team? Are you interested in working on cutting-edge, challenging projects in the sports and cultural marketing space? If so, Re:Sources is looking for someone like you to join its legal team in New York to provide sound legal advice to internal agencies and business units within Publicis Groupe, primarily supporting 160over90.

Each day in this role will be different, as this position supports a variety of activities.

Responsibilities

Key deliverables include:

• Contract drafting and negotiations—particularly for a variety of marketing agreements on both the client and vendor side
• Acting as the main touchpoint for certain agency account teams
• Legal review of agency/advertising/marketing materials and programs
• Assisting with litigation matters and disputes
• Guiding business teams on day-to-day operational issues and risk allocation
• Other various duties expected of a general practitioner

General duties include:

• Negotiating, reviewing, and drafting a wide range of complex commercial contracts
• Researching and providing concise advice on a wide variety of matters related to marketing and advertising
• Working closely and collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, operations, finance, security, risk, privacy experts, and account teams on a variety of matters
• Providing legal and best practices training to management and account teams
• Making proactive contributions that maximize departmental efficiencies and simplify processes
• Maintaining awareness and understanding of the latest developments in the law and industry standards
• Providing support to senior members of the legal team

• Comfort with a variety of technology, including advanced Word and Excel skills and, preferably, AI prompting

• Demonstrated ability to evaluate risk, advise various business units of the risks, and exercise sound legal judgment

Qualifications

The experience and education qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

• JD from an accredited law school
• Current membership in good standing of the state bar of New York or another jurisdiction with the ability to register as in-house counsel in New York state
• A minimum of 5 years' experience as an attorney at a national or recognized regional law firm and, preferably, experience as an in-house attorney in a related field
• Experience negotiating, interpreting, and drafting commercial agreements, with experience as the lead attorney
• Subject matter expertise in advertising, technology, media, data, and/or privacy is a plus

Physical requirements include:

• Use of computer, speaking on telephone
• Writing
• Daily carrying laptop and occasional lifting of file boxes
• Ability to travel

Work conditions include:

• Some limited travel may be required
• Weekend, evening work (home internet access) as needed

The expected salary range for this role is $150,000.00 - 165,000.00 annually. We are committed to offering competitive compensation, and the final salary will be based on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the position.
