This role may sit in either Charleston, SC or Columbia, SC. Join our full-service team that is successfully delivering quality plans for SCDOT, local governments, and private developers. Grow your career and expand your knowledge with Stantec!Get the chance to work on a variety of transportation improvement projects with Stantec’s structural engineers, traffic engineers, roadway engineers, transportation planners and environmental scientists. You will be part of an experienced roadway team designing and delivering a range of transportation projects, including roundabouts, intersection improvements, bridge and interchange designs, in addition to bike/ped facilities and greenway/trail designs.Your Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development of design plans for transportation projects.Support and coordinate work with multiple engineering disciplines, as well as drafting/CADD work for the project.Perform engineering calculations, interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and assist with proposal preparationWork with a team of designers to successfully deliver projects.Learn from senior project engineers or project managers.Your Capabilities and CredentialsSelf-starter with the ability to work with a team.Proficiency with Bentley’s MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD) software.Good communication skills, multi-tasking, attentiveness to detail.Open to learn new skills and interface with multiple project managers.EIT or EI certificate is preferred.Education and ExperienceA Bachelor of Science or a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and at least 2 years of transportation infrastructure experience required.Experience performing work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment.Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require out-of-off meetings/travel.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Why Choose Stantec?We put people first and want to help you make that appointment or the activity that you need to attend. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
