Make an impact in the lives of elementary students by providing exceptional instruction and support as a Special Education Teacher focused on moderate/severe (ESN) needs. This full-time contract role, based near Morgan Hill, CA, calls for a dedicated educator ready to collaborate within a supportive environment and drive positive outcomes for students in a self-contained (SDC) classroom. Start as soon as possible and continue making a difference through June 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active California teaching credential specializing in Moderate/Severe or ESN is required
- Ability to provide a screenshot of your current CTC documentation
- Experience working with elementary-age students in a special day class (SDC) setting is preferred
- Proven skills in differentiating instruction, developing IEPs, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, adaptability, and classroom management abilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and create engaging lesson plans for elementary students with moderate to severe needs
- Assess, monitor, and document student progress, adapting approaches as guided by IEP goals
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to foster student growth
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Stay current with best practices in special education and participate in professional development as needed
