ICU Registered Nurse (RN)An ICU Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a critical care environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and skills related to the management of critically ill patients.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit.Monitor and interpret vital signs, ensuring immediate intervention as necessary.Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.Participate in patient education and family support initiatives.Float to other departments as needed, including Medical-Surgical units.QualificationsActive RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience.Required Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS (AHA).Ability to read and interpret EKG strips.Experience managing patients on ventilators.Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.Proficient in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR); Cerner experience preferred.Shift Details12-hour night shifts with guaranteed hours of 36 hours per week.Every other weekend and rotation of major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's).Reports will be conducted at the bedside; self-scheduling options are available.Additional InformationThe ICU unit features an 8-bed setup with a horseshoe layout, enhancing patient monitoring and care.The RN will have access to dedicated support teams, including respiratory therapy and pharmacy staff available 24/7.Orientation will be provided, lasting 1-2 days with a designated preceptor.No IV team is available; nurses will manage IV administration and care.The position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development within the critical care field. Candidates should be prepared to engage with a variety of challenging cases typical of a medical ICU setting.
