CPA firm seeks motivated and energetic Tax Senior / Enrolled Agent (EA) for immediate hire. Excellent organizational and communication skills, close attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks are a must. Computer proficiency including Word, Excel, Outlook, QuickBooks desktop and QuickBooks online and some other type of tax software is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Preparation & Review: Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S-Corporations, C-Corporations, and trusts.
- IRS Representation: Represent clients before the IRS and state taxing authorities, handling audits, appeals, tax levies, and offering tax resolution strategies (e.g., Offers in Compromise, installment agreements).
- Tax Planning & Consulting: Proactively advise clients on tax savings strategies, entity structuring, and the tax implications of business decisions.
- Compliance & Research: Stay current on changing federal and state tax laws, conducting thorough technical research to ensure client compliance.
- Client Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor, explaining technical tax matters to clients in clear, actionable terms.
Qualifications & Skills
- Active Enrolled Agent (EA) credential in good standing with the IRS.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in professional tax preparation or IRS tax resolution.
- Deep understanding of the Internal Revenue Code, tax compliance regulations, and Circular 230 rules.
- Advanced proficiency in professional tax software and tax resolution software
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong ability to build trust with clients during stressful financial situations.
