As a Surface Preparation & Finishing Technician, you’ll transform raw and fabricated parts into fully finished components through meticulous prep work and expert application of liquid paint and powder coat—always aligned to safety, quality, and production standards.Your impactFrom the moment a part reaches your station, you control the outcome: adhesion, coverage, color match, and durability. You protect critical surfaces, tune application settings, and verify results with in-process checks, ensuring every piece meets spec and ships on time.How you’ll contributeSurface prep: Clean, sand, and condition substrates for optimal adhesion.Masking: Tape and shield areas that must remain uncoated.Quality conditioning: Inspect and correct surface issues before finishing.Powder process: Load/unload parts to and from the conveyor system.Material readiness: Mix paints, primers, and coatings; set up application equipment.Application: Apply coatings using spray tools, brushes, and rollers.Finish control: Adjust application methods and mix to achieve color/finish targets.Throughput: Coordinate with the team to meet production deadlines and goals.Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate logs of coating usage, inventory, and work performed.Flex support: Assist with adjacent production tasks to keep workflow steady.In-process verification: Complete all paint-specific inspections during production.What you needHigh school diploma or equivalent.1+ year of painting experience.Knowledge of coating materials, equipment, and techniques.Strong attention to detail and consistency.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Effective prioritization and multi-tasking.Self-directed time management with minimal oversight.Unwavering commitment to safety.Preferred proficienciesIndustrial & commercial paintingManufacturing environment experienceLocation12901 Jim Dhamer Dr, Huntley, IL 60142 #J-18808-Ljbffr Torrey Holistics
