Department: Support ServicesCounty or State Funded: CountyExempt or Non-exempt: Non-exemptPaygrade: C-102Salary pay range: $15.00 - $18.47 hourlyBasic Function and Responsibility :The warehouse clerk is responsible for receiving, storing, inventorying, and issuing a wide variety of supplies, equipment, and materials, including food items. The position involves maintaining computerized inventory records, performing internal print jobs, assembling and repairing furniture, and providing departmental support services. Duties also include ensuring accurate documentation, assisting in logistics, and supporting overall warehouse operations.Appointing Authority and Supervision Received :The deputy court administrator of family court is the appointing authority. The warehouse clerk receives direct supervision by the warehouse supervisor.Supervision Exercised :None.Characteristic and Assigned Duties : ( The following duties are representative of the position and do not include all duties which may be performed.)Receive in diversified and specialized supplies, materials and equipment and other commodities.Verify and data enter delivered items in computerized system.Examine items to detect unacceptable goods and conformance to orders.Store items on shelves, on floor or in bins according to identifying information such as style, size or type of item.Fill orders or issue supplies from requisition forms by gathering all requested items, attaching requisition and delivering items to user.Perform periodic, special and perpetual inventory of stock, and verify against inventory system.Physically and electronically reallocate items to adjust inventories and avoid back orders.Generate forms to order stock items to avoid shortages.Compile and maintain reports and records regarding inventory adjustments, location changes, and other information.Assign and apply identification numbers to certain inventory items.Inventory capital items by checking physical location and assigned numbers against records.Perform related work as required to include but not limited to serve on teams or committees as assigned, cross-train for other jobs as assigned, and work on special projects as assigned.Access existing master forms documents, modify if required and electronically route to digital copier, entering data for forms production, such as number of copies and bindery options.Assure quality of internally produced forms, card and envelopes.Operate bindery equipment to cut, fold, hole-punch, shrink-wrap, pad and glue forms.Assemble, repair, move and transport furniture, equipment, materials or supplies, using hand truck or cargo van.Assist in unloading delivered items.Set up and test audio-visual equipment; assist in or set-up meeting rooms and audio-visual equipment, and pick up food for meetings.Wrap, box, pack, and address items for outbound mailing or shipping.Straighten and clean warehouse and storage areas.Check inoperable or malfunctioning equipment to service before placing service call.Operate shredding machine.Perform other duties as required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : (This job description does not include specific physical requirements necessary to perform the job, such as, carrying, standing and lifting. Such requirements vary from position to position and may be determined by the appointing authority.)Knowledge of warehouse, material handling and inventory procedures.Knowledge of and ability to operate personal computer.Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.Ability to make accurate arithmetical calculations.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.Ability to read handwritten or small printed words and numbers rapidly and accurately.Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.Ability to record and maintain numerical and alphabetical records and information.Ability to operate standard office machines, such as calculator, typewriter, personal computer, postage meter, weigh scales and electronic equipment.Ability to lawfully operate a cargo van in a safe and prudent manner.Minimum Qualifications: (Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis, provided a high school diploma or GED has been obtained.)High School diploma or equivalent plus one year of directly-related warehouse experience, which should include at least two of the following: material handling, inventory control, and order entry.Necessary Special Requirement :Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from state of residence, and provide proof of such.Must possess and maintain state mandated auto liability insurance and properly licensed, reliable vehicle, and provide proof of such.All candidates selected for employment will be subject to background screenings as part of the hiring process.
