Associate Attorney

The firm is small but serves an established and growing nationwide clientele of Christian and academic publishers, ministries, and other content organizations in intellectual property, publishing, technology, and transactional matters. The position is based in the firm's Bend, Oregon office but a remote working arrangement during the first year, with regular visits to the office, is negotiable. The firm seeks a candidate with at least two years of experience with a mid to large sized law firm or corporate legal department. Candidates should have a degree from an ABA-accredited law school, be admitted to practice in at least one U.S. state or territory and be able to be admitted to the Oregon Bar and likely one additional state bar. Two to Three Years Experience as an Attorney (transactional preferred) Desired candidates will possess: Excellent analytical, writing, and communication abilities, including the ability to produce high-quality written work product analyzing intellectual property matters. Proven ability to identify win-win solutions to complex legal problems. Proven ability to concisely explain sophisticated legal concepts to clients. Contract drafting and negotiating experience is preferred but will consider training an exceptional candidate with other strong writing and research skills. Familiarity with the role of intellectual property and technology in commercial transactions preferred. Interest in copyright and trademark law, particularly in publishing, media, and contentrelated industries and eagerness to learn the field.
