Flight Paramedic

Position Overview LifeMed Alaska’s Flight Paramedics deliver direct patient care in aircraft, ground ambulances, and helicopters, supporting patients with complex needs outside hospitals. They ensure a safe, organized, and therapeutic environment while adhering to policies and protocols, utilizing clinical judgement, treatment guidelines, and on-line medical control. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality emergency and critical care during patient transport across Alaska and beyond. Collaborate with Flight Nurses and other team members to manage patients with a wide range of conditions. Maintain proficiency with monitoring and treatment equipment such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, and IV pumps. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety protocols, and operational processes. Qualifications & Skills Minimum 3 years of Paramedic experience, preferably in high-acuity emergency response. Critical care experience and flight experience are highly preferred. Current licensure including Alaska MICP, NREMT-P, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Valid driver’s license, passport, and completion of specialized certifications such as NRP and trauma courses. Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical skills, with ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Additional Requirements Demonstrate mastery in advanced procedures like intubation, chest tube placement, and EKG interpretation.
