Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse specializing in Pediatric Surgery is needed in Peoria, Illinois. The position involves providing primary circulating nurse support in a fast-paced surgical environment with a department that includes pediatric surgery and general cases. The role requires collaboration with a team of OR professionals in a dedicated surgical department.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts (0700-1730) Monday through Friday with call shifts for nights, weekends, and holidays. No set day off; scheduling is balanced to ensure no more than 2 Mondays or 2 Fridays off within each 6-week period. Self-scheduling is available and will be balanced before schedule publication.
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license, minimum 2 years experience in primary circulating OR cases, pediatric circulating experience preferred, BLS certification (American Heart Association), willingness to wait for license submission, and knowledge of the Epic charting system.
• Additional Information: The assignment is in a busy pediatric operating room with an average number of cases per day dependent on service line. The team includes a charge nurse daily, a house supervisor 24/7, and OR techs (1 RN and 1 surgical technologist) on each shift and on call. Floating within the department (orthopedics, neurology, general, cardiac, vascular, SPD) may be required as needed for staffing. Orientation includes 1-2 days with a surgery department educator followed by a 2-3 day OR departmental orientation. Call response time is 30 minutes, with weekend and holiday call responsibilities. Hospital provides scrubs, which are not to leave the hospital. The start date for this assignment is 07/20/2026.
