SOUS CHEF (FULL TIME)

Job Summary Helps the Executive Chef prepare and cook foods, coordinate activities of cooks and other food‑service associates, and assumes responsibility for the kitchen and food‑service associates in the absence of the Executive Chef. Responsibilities Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards to meet deadlines. Supervises hourly food‑service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, performance reviews and disciplinary actions. Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food‑safety and sanitation procedures. Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures. Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils; cleans workstations before leaving and keeps display equipment clean throughout service. Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner and relays information to supervisor. Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers. Keeps up with peak production and service hours. Monitors inventory and deliveries, tracks product production, consumption, and waste, and informs supervisor when supplies or product are low. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 4 years of previous cooking experience. Minimum 2 years of previous management experience. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation. Compensation Fixed pay rate: $20.00 per hour.
