Job Description Summary The Medical Center Security Officer provides security services for Care Team Members, patients, visitors, and our Medical Facilities. The Security Officer must have the ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with our Care Team Members and the public. Must have knowledge of security practices and protocols. The Medical Center Security Officer position involves shiftwork and some overtime. A Bachelor’s degree or other relevant certifications may be substituted for the required work experience. Must obtain and be able to maintain the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety certification (IAHSS) within the first year of employment. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance.
