Fraud Specialist

Position Summary Responsible for verifyingthe Bank has gathered and compiled information as required by the Bank SecrecyAct, USA PATRIOT Act, the bank’s FCB’s AML/CFT Program, Customer InformationProgram (CIP) and Customer Due Diligence Program. Additionally, responsiblefor conducting fraud investigations against the bank and/or its customers,pursuing prevention and recovery methods to mitigate fraud losses. Collaborate withappropriate business partners and local, state and federal authorities toensure fraudulent matters are identified timely and fraud losses are minimizedor avoided. Responsible for tracking andtimely communication on fraud cases to the BSA Department on all investigativematters which create the need for a SAR to be filed within the regulatorytimeframe. Essential Duties andResponsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.) CreateCDD Questionnaires in Verafin to assist BSA Department during new accountreviews, including resolution of declared behavior alerts in Verafin. Monitorbranch collection of CIP information and Beneficial Ownership per FCB’s CustomerInformation Program and Customer Due Diligence Program. Report lack ofcompliance to AML/CFT Officer in a timely manner. Reviews anddetermines appropriate course of action on alerts for potential OFAC matches. Conductsinvestigations of fraud alerts generated by the BSA/AML monitoring system. Prepares casefile documentation to support fraud investigations and to aid law enforcementin the prosecution of those perpetrating fraud against the bank or bankcustomers. Recommendspolicies and procedures to detect and prevent the occurrence of fraudulent orillegal activities. Assist with therecovery of losses due to fraudulent or illegal activities. Review dailyreports to identify fraudulent activity. Perform qualitycontrol reviews of closed fraud cases. Assists with trainingof bank employees to identify and respond to potential or actual fraudsituations. Assists the FraudManager and AML/CFT Officer as needed. Models the corebeliefs of the organization. Qualifications Two-year college degree or equivalent experience. Experience investigating fraud alerts in a financialinstitution environment. Ability to prioritize and organize case loadindependently. Experience working with federal and local lawenforcement agencies. Basic problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to interpret a variety ofinstructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Proficiency in using personal computers and officeproducts (e.g., Word, Excel, Adobe).
