We bridge connections for licensees and our own internal game teams to online services. This allows games like Fortnite to utilize a combination of platform online services as well as Epic’s own online services to build cross-platform online features. Login, parties, voice chat, matchmaking, purchasing, cloud storage, and analytics are just a few examples of online features that our Online Game Services team helps games utilize.What You'll DoThe Applications Team builds desktop and web applications, as well as supporting online services to power content discovery and digital delivery. Our team of engineering experts is always innovating to improve the tools and technology that empower internal and external developers to deliver their digital content to users across multiple platforms. Whether it be supporting Fortnite, the Epic Games Store, or external partners, we are committed to improving the scalability, efficiency, portability, and stability of our tech offerings. As a member of our Applications team, you can expect to coordinate with a cross-site group of highly skilled individuals. You will have opportunities to architect new features and evolve existing products used daily by millions of gamers, developers, and enterprise professionals. You will partner closely with backend services teams to ensure that the underlying systems we build meet internal and external customer needs.In this role, you willFocus on the technical implementation and evolution of the Epic Games Launcher desktop applicationBe hands-on and use your technical expertise to drive solutions for a range of challengesCollaborate with other teams (including Product, Design, QA, and Backend Service Teams)Design, architect, implement, and ship well-documented new featuresImprove, and evolve existing tools and featuresMaintain and hunt for bugs in existing code basesTake part in foundational work as we embark on a new chapter for our desktop clientsWhat we're looking forExperience building perfect experience-focused desktop applications, as well as strong professional experience building production software in RustOwned and shipped large initiatives that require coordination across multiple teamsAbility to architect system interfaces and toolsTrack record of development on tight schedules with complex technical requirementsPassion for building great user experiences and products that serve diverse use casesSomeone who is user-focused, solution-oriented, passionate, and innovative.
