Server Position

The server has the responsibility to serve guests in an assigned station by providing courteous and efficient service that meets or exceeds guest's dining expectations.

Essential functions include:

• Supporting a strong commitment to world class guest service and ensuring a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience for restaurant patrons.
• Completing training requirements and following service standards as trained.
• Greeting guests promptly and courteously in assigned workstation.
• Understanding and executing established procedures for verifying guest's ability to legally purchase and consume alcohol and knowing how to prevent a guest from overindulging.
• Learning all menus and being able to communicate all food and beverage offerings.
• Effectively using suggestive selling techniques.
• Recording food and beverage orders, entering orders into computer system, monitoring status of order preparation and safely transporting order from kitchen to guest.
• Monitoring and addressing guest needs during meal.
• Collecting monies owed for food and beverages and properly performing all guest check accountability procedures.
• Performing tip declaration activities and compensating indirectly tipped associates, i.e., Bussers, Bartenders, Runners, as per established service procedures.
• Performing daily cleaning activities.
• Performing food running and station set-up / break-down responsibilities as assigned.
• All other duties as assigned.

Experience/qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED preferred.

Knowledge, skills, and ability:

• Experience in and passion for consumer service.
• Willingness to learn new skills and be a team player.
• An attitude of flexibility and mindfulness about the team approach.
• Learn all menus and be able to communicate all food and beverage offerings.
• Clean and clear service areas.
• Follow proper procedures as disclosed in standard operating procedures as explained to staff.
• Ability to memorize and become knowledgeable of menu items.

• N/A

Physical requirements:

• Regularly walks and stands.
• Occasionally lifts up to 50lbs.

Independent judgement:

• Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
