Location: Rock Hill, SC Job Type: Manufacturing / Production Schedule: 1st Shift Pay $18.00 -$19.00 Shift Note: May occasionally need to work nights, but this would be the exception Reports To: Production Supervisor / Production Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Packaging & Forklift Operator / Production Tech to support production operations in Rock Hill, SC. This role is responsible for packaging finished product, labeling drums and finished goods, moving materials safely with a forklift, and assisting with general plant duties as assigned.
This is a hands-on production role that requires repeated lifting, attention to detail, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position requires the ability to lift and move 55 lb product bags repeatedly and follow all plant safety guidelines and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Package Phenoxy products and label finished goods accurately
- Lift and move 55 lb product bags repeatedly throughout the shift
- Safely operate a forklift to move materials and support production needs
- Transfer Bis-A Powder to the silo as required
- Label and clean drums as part of production operations
- Participate in safety activities, including Zero Harm 60-Second Checks, safety interactions, and near-miss reporting
- Follow all plant safety rules and report accidents immediately
- Maintain a clean and safe work area through cleaning, sweeping, painting, and emptying trash cans
- Assist in different areas of the plant as needed
- Complete assigned work and projects accurately and successfully
- Communicate effectively with peers, leads, supervisors, and management
- Maintain a positive working relationship with employees and support teamwork
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous manufacturing, production, packaging, forklift, or material handling experience preferred
- Forklift experience strongly preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be dependable, flexible, and willing to assist in different plant areas
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and move 55 lb product bags repeatedly
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching
- Frequent pushing and pulling
- Comfortable working in high spaces and tight spaces
- Comfortable working around moving machinery and forklifts
- May be exposed to loud noise and chemicals occasionally
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule
Safety and Compliance
This position may involve materials regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Training will be provided before any involvement with regulated waste transfer or related activities. Candidates must be willing to follow all safety procedures, plant policies, and required training standards.
