Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach /Assistant Ticket Manager/Assistant Business Operations

Responsible for assisting in the organization, development, andleadership of a highly competitive Division III Men’s Lacrosseprogram in support of the mission and core values of Union College.The position will also serve as Assistant Ticketing Manager andAssistant Business Operations. The Men’s Lacrosse program is a member of NCAA Division III and theLiberty League. Union College sponsors 27 intercollegiate sports,25 in Division III, with Ice Hockey competing at Division I. Position Title: Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach/AssistantTicket Manager & Assistant Business Operations Pay status and classification: Exempt, regular full-time.This position is not eligible for relocation assistance or visasponsorship. Supervisors: Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach, Assistant Directorof Athletics for Compliance and Ticketing, Assistant Director ofAthletics for Business Operations Position Purpose: Responsible for assisting in theorganization, development, and leadership of a highly competitiveDivision III Men’s Lacrosse program in support of the mission andcore values of Union College. The position will also serve asAssistant Ticketing Manager and Assistant BusinessOperations. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Coaching: Demonstrates effective teaching methods andpossesses excellent leadership. Designs coaching strategies for theDefense as a whole. Collaborates with the athletics trainer toensure the health, safety, and well-being of allparticipants. Recruitment: Assists in recruiting and retaining topprospective student athletes who are fully engaged in the missionof Union College. Collaborates with the head coach and admissionsdepartment to arrange on-campus visits for all prospectivestudent-athletes and their families. Ensures compliance with allrecruitment policies and procedures. Administration : Assists in aspects designated by thehead coach of the lacrosse program adhering to NCAA, league, anddepartment compliance. Helps in organization of recruiting,budgeting, scheduling. Helps with invoices, spring break planning,and gear orders. Student-Athlete Development: Assists in ensuring theacademic success of student-athletes by collaborating with collegestakeholders. Mentors student-athletes. Ticket Manager and Assistant Business Operations: Assists in all aspects of ticketing and business operations asassigned by the Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance& Ticketing and the Assistant Director of Business Operations.Office Hours required M-F. Required to work nights/weekends in theticket office for 12-18 events/year (dependent on schedules). Qualifications: Ability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.), andstand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time. Bachelor’s degree and successful coaching experience. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings andweekends. Must possess or obtain a valid New York State driver’slicense. Thorough understanding and working knowledge of Liberty Leagueand NCAA, rules, policies and procedures. A coaching philosophy compatible with a multi-classifiedliberal arts college with highly selective academicstandards. Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and writtencommunication skills, including attention to detail. Effective computer skills for recruiting and game analysissoftware. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be self-motivatedwith the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Able to exercise exceptional judgment, ensure strictconfidentiality, and demonstrate outstanding professionalism in arange of situations. Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant,culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community of students,alumni, faculty, and fellow professionals. Preferred Qualifications: Collegiate Coaching Experience Playing/Coachingexperience. Compensation: The annual salary rate for this position is $43,500. Exceptfor roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalistselected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors,including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications,experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
