Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced with data management, records, inventory tracking, or library/research support? Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking Information Research Specialists to support a large-scale records, indexing, and collection logistics project within the Research Library. These positions play a critical role in preserving, organizing, and managing technical information that supports one of the nation's premier scientific research institution s.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate and track document collections prepared for offsite storage
• Maintain barcode, inventory, and records databases
• Create and manage spreadsheets using Excel or similar tools
• Perform indexing, metadata entry, and quality control reviews Upload inventory and records information into library systems
• Work with vendors, project teams, and LANL stakeholders
• Support records management, archives, and information retrieval activities
• Review records for accuracy, completeness, and consistency prior to publication or storage

Minimum Qualifications

Information Research Specialist 1

• 2+ years of related experience or equivalent education/experience
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• Experience using spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and protocols
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Preferred Experience

• Library, archives, or records management
• Metadata creation and indexing
• Inventory tracking and logistics coordination
• Quality assurance / quality control
• Working with controlled or sensitive information
• Excel, database management, and reporting tools

Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship Required

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance. This position requires successful completion of a federal background investigation and adherence to Department of Energy (DOE) security requirements.
