Project Overview:

Bechtel's Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. M&T is an exciting and growing business unit that serves customers in the semiconductor, datacenter, life sciences, and electric vehicle markets. Job Summary:

In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project's civil/structural aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews of civil/structural components and processes. Your technical expertise will ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project's civil/structural aspects are met. #LI-ME1

Major Responsibilities:

• Plans and conducts independent Civil/Structural work requiring judgment in theevaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of Civil/Structural engineeringtechniques, procedures and criteria on a medium size project or assignment insupport of a global business unit
• Leads the design, development, modification, and evaluation of precast structural components andprocesses utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), designstandards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices(DRNs)
• Reviews and approves key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, change orders, and bid summaries for the project to which assigned
• Designs structures using advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering
• Originates and checks complex Civil/Structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
• Develops conceptual designs for Civil/Structural engineering projects or projects havingspecialized or unique requirements primarily for precast design
• Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan inaccordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and supportsimplementation and assists with performance reporting
• Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performancedata
• Mentors Civil/Structural engineering personnel by providing on-the-job training for theirprofessional development
• Leads constructability reviews

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Recognized as advanced contributor with precast structural engineering
• Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline
• Seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization, resolves a wide range of complex issues in creative and effective ways
