Bridge Engineer

Description Serves as a bridge and structural engineer responsible for planning, analysis, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects. Provides technical leadership for bridge, retaining wall, and related structural projects; coordinates multidisciplinary teams; supports business development efforts; and ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with applicable design standards and client requirements. Essential Responsibilities Perform and oversee bridge design, load rating, rehabilitation, widening, and replacement projects. Prepare and review engineering calculations, plans, specifications, quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and technical reports. Ensure compliance with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, NDOT requirements, and applicable ACI, AISC, and building codes. Coordinate project schedules and budgets. Review and approve engineering work products for quality, accuracy, and constructability. Coordinate with clients, agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams throughout project development and construction. Participate in project meetings, respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, and support construction engineering services. Structural Division Responsibilities Design bridges utilizing AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Manual. Design buildings utilizing IBC. Design retaining walls. Design flood control structures including detention basin infrastructure, junction structures. Design water reservoirs and pump stations. Perform structural analysis. Requirements Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required; Master’s in an appropriate engineering discipline preferred. Experience: Minimum four years of bridge design experience. Licenses: Nevada Professional Engineer license required, or able to obtain within six months; valid driver’s license. Other: Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
