Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience required License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Driver's license required Description:
Unit requires interview with unit leaders.
Candidates must have recent ICU experience.
Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius.
Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.
Refusal to remove artificial nails will lead to termination of contract.
RNs must pass an open book exam during orientation to demonstrate skills learned.
A minimum score of 90% is required to pass or termination will occur.
The department includes Medical-Surgical ICU.
There are 34 beds on the unit.
Nurse to patient ratios are 1:1 to 2 for ICU, 1:4 to 5 for PCU, and 1:5 to 6 for med-surg.
Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, ARDS, and sepsis.
RNs will have the ability to train real-time on various equipment and procedures.
RN roles include titration of drips, including vasopressors and narcotics.
Charge nurses are available on each shift.
Charge nurses will attend rapid response teams and codes.
The unit has ratios for nursing aids/patient care techs.
RNs will troubleshoot respiratory equipment like vents and CPAPs.
There are no telemetry techs; RNs are required to read their own strips.
Shifts are from 0630 to 1830 and 1830 to 0630.
The manager will create the schedule based on unit needs.
Weekend requirements include working every other weekend.
Holiday requirements are for 2 out of 3 major holidays or as needed.
Floating to all inpatient units is expected, excluding maternity/NICU.
Dress code includes navy blue scrubs.
Unit requires a fast-paced work environment.
Attributes for success in this unit include asking questions, having a positive attitude, willingness to help others, and critical thinking skills.
The unit fosters a team environment for high-quality care and collaboration.
RTO needs to be submitted upfront (7 or fewer days off per contract).
Additional RTO will not be approved after submission.
Hospital has a cancellation policy.
Charting system is EPIC.
BSN is not required.
Trauma level is 1.
Care setting is acute.
Division is nursing.
Shift notes include 12-hour days.
Required certifications include ACLS, BLS certification, and NIHSS.
