Electrician

Description

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform inspections, repairs and installation of commercial electrical systems such as receptacles, switches, electrical panels, connections to equipment, disconnects and controls.

• Perform complex electrical repairs and installations with little supervision.

• Able to trouble shoot low voltage control issues and repair.

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all electrical systems.

• Work closely with the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor to assure that all electrical systems are safely maintained with accurate records.

• Work with the other facilities management staff on electric, mechanical and construction projects, repairs, and installations.

• Understand, abide by, and provide guidance to others, on all safety regulations.

• On call for after-hour emergencies as scheduled, as well as required for the on-call for Hurricane Preparation Plan.

• Generate requests for various materials needed to perform electrical repairs and installations.

• Maintain an accurate parts inventory for repairs.

• Operates vehicles to transport goods, equipment, or personnel. Drives and parks vehicles safely and responsibly in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.

Requirements

Skills & Knowledge:

• In-depth skill, knowledge and understanding in electrical systems and installation, as typically demonstrated by


10 yrs prior experience in commercial electrical field.

• Strong general knowledge of control systems and electricity.

• Ability to independently develop, plan and install new electrical projects.

• Ability to work independently with little supervision or guidance.

• Ability to work well with others, and to supervise work of other mechanics and assistants.

• Strong knowledge and understanding of all appropriate safety regulations and requirements.
