Nursing Position in Pasadena, CA, USAWork Location: Pasadena, CA, USAOnsite or Remote Fully On-Site Work Schedule Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pmSalary Range: $65.76 - $97.76 HourlyPrimary Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder direct supervision, provide nursing care to patients. Duties include taking patient vitals, assisting in procedures, giving injections, administering medications, IV therapy, and accessing CVCs.Job QualificationsAbility to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as neededAbility to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to physicianKnowledge of symptomology of common and/or life threatening medical problemsWorking knowledge of instruments and supplies required to perform physical examinations and other routine clinical proceduresAbility to work effectively with patients, physicians and staff in a diplomatic and professional manner in order to maximize operations.Skill in prioritizing assignments and managing multiple tasksTeam building skills to include prior supervisor or lead experienceAbility to work effectively as a member of a team in order to provide effective patient careSkill in monitoring complex clinician appointment schedulesAbility to effective elicit salient clinical information such as presenting complaints from patients and referring professionals andmake appropriate assignments based on established guidelinesSkill in listening perceptively, conveying awareness and responding to patients and visitors with health concerns using tact and discretionSkill in speaking clearly and distinctly in person and over the phone, using appropriate grammar and vocabulary in order to share information, effectively communicate, with persons from diverse social economic and cultural backgroundsAbility to triage patient issues to achieve resolutionAbility to maintain confidentiality and to work with sensitive and confidential information using judgment and discretion.Ability to maintain equanimity in the face of resistance, indifference, and hostilityAbility to accept directions from supervisors and act promptlyPreferredKnowledge/experience in venipuncture/ withdraw blood for patients of all ages including infants.Knowledge/experience in managing adverse allergic reactions on patients of all ages including infants with severe allergies/ including but not limited to: administering oral medications in liquid form to infants in a collected, rapid manner to control adverse reactions and prevent anaphylaxisKnowledge/experience in providing allergy skin tests/food and drug challenges/interpret - make assessment of results for patients of all ages including infants
