Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Days/Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Level 4 NICU environment, including pre- and post-operative care for neonatal patients
• Operate and monitor advanced equipment including oscillators, conventional ventilators, CPAP, nasal cannula specialty gases, and manage PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC/UVC/PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-tubes
• Perform and assist with line changes involving multiple drips and complex hemodynamic management
• Float within scope of practice to other units (PICU, CTICU, Med Surg) and satellite NICU campuses as needed; mileage reimbursed from home base location
• Work a variable day/night rotating schedule as published monthly; must maintain full flexibility to work either shift as assigned
• Work 2 out of 3 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, including Eves); no holiday RTO permitted

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Level 4 NICU experience required (will consider Level 3 RN with strong surgical experience from a facility that performs surgeries on newborns)
• Active California RN license required ; pending license accepted if a confirmed ETA from the licensing board is available prior to start
• BLS certification required
• Advanced NRP certification required
• Cardiac experience required
• Must have reliable personal transportation; must be willing to float to satellite locations and other units within scope of practice
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Maximum of 6 days RTO; all RTO must be disclosed upfront at time of submission
• Must be available to work weekends with full scheduling flexibility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification preferred
• Experience in a children's hospital or dedicated pediatric setting
• Familiarity with Epic charting system
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers with Level 4 NICU experience will be considered)
