Design Technician V

Medtronic seeks a Design Technician V in Mounds View, Minnesota to provide technical support for cardiac ablation product development. The role involves hands-on electronics assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and laboratory operations while mentoring junior technicians.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical support for electrical product development, testing, troubleshooting, and laboratory operations
- Build, modify, rework, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies, PCBs, cable assemblies, prototypes, and test fixtures using engineering drawings
- Perform complex electrical tests, configure laboratory instrumentation, and prepare technical data reports and test records
- Diagnose hardware and system issues using structured troubleshooting methods and multi-disciplinary technical knowledge
- Train, coach, mentor lower-level technicians and collaborate with engineers to develop improved test methods and laboratory workflows
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of relevant electrical product development or test engineering experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical education or certification preferred
- Expert knowledge of electronic systems, electrical schematics, and standard test instrumentation
- Demonstrated ability to independently execute complex technical work and implement system improvements
- Experience training, coaching, and delegating work to other technical employees
- Advanced proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and laboratory equipment
- Advanced soldering, PCB rework, cable fabrication, and electronic prototype construction skills
