Manager in Training

The Manager in Training program is designed to prepare you to lead all aspects of store operations in a fast-paced retail environment. You will gain hands-on experience managing daily activities, including customer service, inventory management, sales, and team coordination, while ensuring smooth and efficient store operations.This role focuses on creating a positive, welcoming shopping experience for customers and fostering a productive, engaged work environment for staff. Reporting to the District Manager, you will receive mentorship and guidance to develop the leadership skills needed to successfully advance into a Store Manager role.Compensation:$47,300Responsibilities:Direct and coordinate all store operations to support efficient daily activities and seamless workflow across departmentsPerform daily administrative and clerical tasksMaintain open communication with the District Manager regarding operational concerns and collaborate on implementing corrective action plans when neededSupervise and manage stock proceduresEnsure the safety and security of the store and merchandise by preventing theft, conducting emergency preparedness drills, maintaining a secure environment, and providing coverage as needed to support staffing needsQualifications:Solid knowledge of sales, budgeting, financial reporting, and inventory management to support profitabilityStrong problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills to manage operations efficiently in a fast-paced environmentMust pass a background check and drug screenHigh school diploma or equivalent, or the ability to obtain one through The Excel CenterExcellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with staff, customers, and managementAbout CompanyAt Goodwill Industries of Michiana, our mission extends beyond providing job opportunities and community support.
