Manager, Research Operations

Job Description To provide management and oversight of administrative and human resources functions for faculty in the School of Nursing and staff in the Office of Nursing Research. Provides direct support to the Associate of Research or the new Vice Dean upon appointment with administrative-related duties. Works collaboratively with the office team to ensure efficient systems operation that provides faculty support with resources to enhance the research mission. Duties Identify research resources and assist with research activities for the School of Nursing. Assist faculty, students, and ONRS Grants and Specialists with development and submission of grant budgets, projections, and other application materials. Handle post-award budget and administrative matters, including quarterly and annual progress reports for grants and IRB. Manage aggregate database entries, review, cleaning, and bi-annual effort reporting for the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP); monitor grant submissions for timeliness. Maintain and update grant database; work closely with business administrators from the Office of Faculty Affairs and Diversity to obtain accurate funding information; establish, monitor, and control schedules and project budgets; input data into CAYUSE in support of Primary Investigators. Establish operating procedures, practices, and guidelines; communicate with SON personnel; maintain records in accordance with HSC retention policies for ONRS; communicate workflow and priorities to faculty; develop solutions to complex research problems. Maintain website accuracy and timely updates; promote faculty interaction with students; select appropriate staff to advance the mission; foster a research environment, celebrate achievements, and post appointments. Maintain the Associate or Vice Dean’s calendar; schedule and promote research activities within the School of Nursing; complete external and internal survey reporting; assist with preparation of Hyperion variance reports and explanations; other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with seven (7) years experience in research administration or related experience, or Master’s degree with a minimum of five (5) years applicable experience.
