About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) to serve as the pivotal link between clinical practice and health information technology. The CMIO will be responsible for ensuring that digital solutions enhance the quality, safety, and efficiency of patient care. This role demands a physician leader with a strong background in clinical informatics, health IT, and digital transformation, who can champion the optimization and adoption of clinical information systems. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner in aligning technology investments with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and the evolving needs of patients and clinicians. Key responsibilities include leading system-wide initiatives that promote clinical excellence, provider engagement, and data-driven decision-making, as well as collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to integrate technology seamlessly into clinical workflows. Candidates for the CMIO position at the company should have an MD or DO with active or eligible South Carolina medical licensure, and a preference for those eligible for a faculty appointment at the College of Medicine. A minimum of 10 years' frontline clinical experience and 10 years' in leading clinical informatics or digital transformation initiatives is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in physician engagement, change management, and enterprise-wide influence, with a preference for those holding clinical informatics board certification or equivalent experience. The role demands a leader with strong strategic, operational, and financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative, problem-solving approach. The CMIO will also be expected to have a commitment to the mission of the company and to advancing equitable, high-quality care.
